So here's some surreal thoughts. I'm sitting in my hotel room in Rome writing my first thoughts on Italy2.0 at 8 in the evening. It's not that late, I know, and I'm on holidays. So I should be sitting in a bar or a restaurant with Joani having a glass of wine, right? One would think that would be the case, but here's surreal thought #1.
Yesterday at this time I was still at Sunnybrook working! I got up at my usual 4:30 am to be at work at 7am, left at 3 pm to drive home in rush hour traffic. Showered, changed cloths, finished packing and then jumped back in the car to drive right across the city, again in rush hour traffic to catch a 9 pm flight to Rome. I never sleep on those overnight flights, so right at this moment I have been awake for almost 33 hours except for one catnap I snuck in sitting up in the plane. Hence the early night back at the hotel room. Tomorrow night... look out Rome, Joani and I might stay awake to at least 10 PM!
Surreal thought #2
In case you feel sorry for me for crashing early on my first night of holidays think about this. While I'm writing this, most of you that are reading this will still be working!! I know that it's mean of me to point out the 6 hour time change but I'm still probably more tired than you. Work or no work.

Couple of photos just to rub it in.
Is showing you the size of the elevators in Rome really rubbing it in? Maybe not but as I said, I'm very tired.
Can't go wrong with this shot. Rome is definitely cool!
Speaking of which, A shot for some of my co-workers who love basketball.
I saw this court as Joani and I were walking around today and thought a game of pick-up with the Amphitheatre in the background would have a little extra cache.
Back in Italy
