Festivals
That is the catchword that seems to best describe our visit to Spain this week. When we first got to Madrid it was national art day and all the Museums and Art Galleries had free admittance. Bonus!! When we got to Zaragosa as I have told you previously it was some sort of festival week for them. Bonus again!!.Then we get to Barcelona and it is Las Ramblas festival week. We had fireworks outside of our hotel window the first night.
You may think I am exaggerating but check out the attached photos. There is the ad that we saw in a bus shelter in Zaragosa
touting their festival and another one of a flag that was hanging from a light post on Las Ramblas.
Joani seems sure that I arranged all of this for our visit to Spain and asked me if I had called ahead and what she could expect when we got to Valencia!! Does anyone have any contacts in Valencia Spain and if so could they give them a heads up, tell them we are coming, and arrange for a welcoming committee. Nothing too big. Just the Mayor and a small group of the city's dignitaries will do. I would really appreciate it. I hate when Joani is disappointed.
Anyway I have attached a couple of other photos of Barcelona that I hope you will appreciate. A monument to Columbus
located at the main pier into the city, a picture of the ever beautiful Joani in front of an amazing fountain
and the night view of Barcelona from our hotel room window.
Tomorrow morning we are visiting the Picasso Museum then onward to Valencia. Oranges and more of Spain awaits.
Adios Amigos
